Incompany courses

OTB Research Institute for the Built Environment arranges tailor-made courses for customers who want a specific content, timing or location. The courses can vary in length, depending on the topics to be dealt with, the depth to which they are to be studied and how much the participants may be expected to know at the start of the course. The courses may present both basic knowledge and recent advances in the field. A variety of working styles may be used.

Tailor-made

An in-company course is often a better platform for open, confidential discussion of concrete problems from the participants’ working practice than a regular course where participants from various organizations may be present. Further, it may be cheaper than a regular course if enough participants can be found in-house. The time at which the course is given can be determined in consultation with the users, which is not possible in a regular course. Finally, the fact that the course can be given on the user’s premises means that the participants have no extra travel time.

Practical

The wide range of research carried out at OTB, varying from applied to more fundamental studies, means that the institute is good at dealing with practical problems. This ability is supported by the fact that OTB staff keep themselves well informed on current developments in the world of practice and innovative working methods in the field of housing and the built environment. The close contacts with other faculties at Delft University of Technology mean that a lot of teaching experience is available.
